Senators, WSTA, NTCA Urge FCC Action on ACAM and CABS-BLS

A bipartisan group of 12 U.S. Senators, supported by the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association and NTCA—The Rural Broadband Association, have asked the FCC to expand access to broadband and increase its speed.

Senators John Thune, the South Dakota Republican, and Tammy Baldwin, a Wisconsin Democrat, were joined by 10 other Senators in this bipartisan effort. A letter from the Senators to the FCC said that “without agency action, the FCC risks leaving Americans in rural areas behind.”

The Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association and NTCA also wrote letters of support to the FCC. They pointed out the need to provide rural America with advanced broadband services, which will not happen unless the FCC acts to help rural carriers in sparsely populated and difficult to serve areas.

We applaud these efforts to bring advanced and affordable broadband service to those parts of rural America that might otherwise be left behind.
